The reservoir does not need to be completely filled, it just needs enough oxygen to provide you with a 15-minute EWOT session. However, to completely fill the reservoir, it takes roughly:
- 1.5 hours with a 10 LPM System
- 3 hours with a 5 LPM System.
We recommend using an outlet mer or smart outlet to automate the filling for the same me each day.
Both systems are great and will offer all the benefits of EWOT. We do sell many more 10 LPM systems than 5 LPM systems. Here are main reasons people decide to purchase our 10 LPM system:
• Mul ple users: The 10 LPM system will allow the second person to use the system much more quickly
– oen as quick as 30-45 minutes aer the first person, if the machine is le running while the firstperson uses it. With the 5 lpm system, it can take closer to 1.5 hours, and this makes a big difference in people being able to find the me to both use it.
• Flexibility: If a person some mes wants to use the machine at different mes of the day (e.g – you normally use it at 7am, but today you decide to use it at lunch me) – again, the faster filling me gives you more flexibility on when you use it
• Lifespan: The 10 lpm machine will have double the life, because you run it half as long to fill the reservoir
• High Fitness Levels: People who are really fit some mes can need more than 1000 liters of oxygen to get the 15-minutes. These folks will leave the machine on while using it and can get up to an addi onal 150 liters of oxygen with the 10 lpm machine. Our 10 LPM system is our most popular. Most folks who chose the 5 lpm system are on a very ght budget due to major health problems, etc
You do not need to leave the oxygen concentrator running while using the EWOT system. Once the reservoir has enough oxygen for your workout, you can turn it off and breathe from the reservoir. However, if you have someone planning to use the system shortly aer you, you can leave the concentrator on so the reservoir is less depleted. You can also leave it on of you need more than 1000 liters to finish your workout.
We recommend you do an EWOT therapy session for 15-minutes to get full benefits.
Depending on your health status, we recommend you work up to 70% -80% of your theore cal maximum heart rate. For your EWOT protocol, you can calculate your theore cal maximum heart rate as 220 minus your age. However, for people with chronic illness, geBng to 70% - 80% of your maximum heart rate can take 6 months or longer. Even if you never get there, don't let the pursuit of perfec on stand in the way of progress.
Do only what you are comfortable with and listen to your body carefully. Even doing EWOT therapy while walking on a treadmill, bouncing on a rebounder, or standing on a vibra on plate offers lots of health benefits.
For most folks, we recommend doing EWOT 3 – 5 mes per week. We recommend you start EWOT therapy slowly and listen to your body. There are folks doing as liEle as a session a week and up to daily usage who are geBng great results.
When it comes to EWOT vs. HBOT, they are very similar modali es that offer very similar benefits. However, because EWOT taps into the synergies of exercise, most folks report more drama c results in a shorter period of me using EWOT versus HBOT. Addi onally, EWOT is much cheaper, less me-intensive, and can be done safely in the comfort of your own home without the risks of hyperbaric chambers. You can read more about the similari es and differences here.
We don't recommend filling the night before. Our exercise with oxygen training reservoirs are made to breathe. This means that if you fill it the night before, it will par ally deflate overnight. This is done to ensure that if moisture were to somehow get int the EWOT reservoir, it has a path to escape and not create a condi on that is conducive to mold.
Our EWOT reservoirs are much stronger than the pressure an oxygen concentrator can put out. For that reason, you will not damage your EWOT reservoir by con nuing to run your concentrator. We don't recommend running your concentrator for hours aer the EWOT reservoir is full, as that is unnecessary wear and tear on your concentrator. However, aside from the longer running me and wear on the concentrator, you will not damage your EWOT system by running it while the EWOT reservoir is full.
Unused oxygen will be good to use for your next session. It done not need to be purged from the reservoir.
Our EWOT reservoirs are made out of FDA-approved, BPA-free, virgin LDPE. This is the same material that is used for food products such as ketchup boEles, frozen food and bread packaging. The FDA approves its use in the virgin state (meaning it has never been recycled) as it is chemically resistant, repels microorganisms and doesn't leach harmful toxins when used to store food at a variety of temperatures. As any food packaging is constantly exposed to oxygen in the air, we have chosen its material for its safety for our applica on.
We do not use HEPA filtra on. HEPA filtra on will not make the oxygen you breath any cleaner. A HEPA filter screens out dust and debris larger than 300,000 picometers in diameter (0.3 micrometers). All oxygen concentrators use a dust filter, simply to avoid dust geBng into the gas separa on equipment. The gas separa on equipment is designed to be able to allow oxygen through (299 picometers in diameter) while blocking nitrogen (305 picometers) and argon (363 picometers). A 300,000 picometer par cle will not make it through the gas separa on equipment regardless of HEPA filtra on. The net result is HEPA filtra on does not make the oxygen you are breathing any "cleaner".
Al tude switching EWOT systems are designed to create a low-oxygen delivery (lower than the air you breathe) to starve your body of oxygen for short bouts. The idea is that causes your blood vessels todilate and allow more oxygen in when you switch back to the EWOT high-oxygen breathing.
The low-oxygen seBng promotes increased inflamma on, which is not helpful to most people. Those with chronic illnesses oen tell us this al tude-switching made them feel dizzy and unwell. We don't believe in al tude switching for many people with chronic illnesses, and you can read our posi on on blog on al tude contrast EWOT.
For those who are interested in the effects of al tude switching, and who are well enough to seek any benefits it may offer, you can get the same benefits from holding your breath for 5-7 seconds at a me a few mes per EWOT session. Holding your breath will allow 0% oxygen in and will dilate your blood vessels more than al tude switching technology. And it will save you thousands of dollars on not buying al tude switching technology and the hassle of flipping a mechanical switch while trying to maintain your exercising momentum and balance.
We catalog some of the growing research on EWOT on our Research Page. Beyond that, you can search the government research website, pubmed for even more research. EWOT is referred to by many names, but exercise with oxygen therapy is oen referred to as "hyperoxic training", with the word "hyperoxic" meaning "a state of excess supply of O2 in ssues and organs".
Our CatalystOne panel uses 8 wavelengths - 4 red wavelengths (630nm, 650nm, 660nm, & 670nm) and 4 infrared wavelengths (810nm, 830nm, 850nm, & 1060nm)
Different wavelengths of red/infared light penetrate different depths of ssues and can have different impacts, although many of the impacts overlap across wavelengths. We chose wavelengths that had a very high volume of research suppor ng their posi ve impacts to both cellular biology and humans to ensure the broadest, research-based impacts for our customers.
Our dual-chip LEDs allow each LED to put out a red light and and infrared light wavelength at the same me. This provides for more-even coverage of the treated area while reducing the panel size.
